Australia wins Miss Voluptuous International 2022 wearing Fabric Collection !
Miss Voluptuous Australia, Amber Jane Powson from Brisbane QLD, recently won the 2022 Miss Voluptuous International Pageant in Nashville, USA.
At Fabric Collection, we were overwhelmed with joy and excitement seeing our fabrics paraded in glamourous red carpet designer gowns. 25-year old Amber, a Queensland-based model and actress, was crowned wearing a one-of-a-kind custom-made Madison Goodridge gown, created using designer fabrics from Fabric Collection.
The evening gown segment is one of the most anticipated highlights, and this year's Miss Voluptuous International evening gown segment was a fiercely contested event. Pageant winner Amber walked the runway in a gorgeous embellished red dress, perfectly accentuating her beauty and grace. Masterfully cut to fit a queen with an unexpected wavelike gradient of tulle beading made it truly a gown to remember.
Miss Voluptuous International also showcased the revered second dress, an ocean blue National Costume gown, created by Brisbane fashion designer Joash. For fashion creatives, it is a chance to demonstrate their design prowess on a global stage. The gown was custom made in our Mikado fabric, a beautifully textured weave fabric, using a combination of couture draping and saviour fare tailoring to create architectural forms.
Beyond the red carpet glamour, the pageant world has come a long way. This global pageant is a new vision of pageantry, celebrating diversity and individuality and creating an empowering platform to share ideas and visions for the future. "I believe that it's important to have realistic, diverse images of ourselves in the media, and it is essential to help us find confidence in our bodies, and for our mental health and to support each other," Amber said.
